Hey Y'all! Will you you help me become an Iron Phi? On July 6th, I'll be attempting to become an Iron Phi for my fraternity Phi Delta Theta. What is an Iron Phi? In short and simple terms, it is a Phi who completes an athletic challenge and raises a minimum of $1000 for the LiveLikeLou Foundation. LiveLikeLou is our philanthropic cause aimed to raise funds and awareness for ALS in memory of Lou Gehrig. Lou was a professional baseball player and Phi Delt. Hence, "Iron Phi."
On July 6th, I will be running the Traverse City Cherry Festival Half Marathon. I've been training hard and promise to you all that I will leave it all out on the course. It's probably not suprising, but this means alot to me. Not only is it a chance to give back to my brotherhood and do my part in finding a cure for ALS, but it also is the start of a personal journey to complete an Ironman in honor of my sister Ava.
I've set the goal to raise $1000 and with your help, even more. I recently submitted a question to my favorite news article, Roca News. It was something along the lines of "In a world where the media seems to be so negative, what gives you hope?" One of the responses commented about how when we look for it, people are instinctually good and caring. Seeing other Iron Phis and the support I've already received on my journey serves testemant to that, which is why I am so proud of this cause. Let's get after it!!!

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
