Indiana Mu - IUPUI
Welcome to our Chapter's Iron Phi team page!
We Phi Delts have a special saying within our organization - "We enjoy life by the help and society of others." This is, in fact, is our open motto and explains our Chapter's desire to help others through the Iron Phi initiative.
The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and the impact it has on the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease through the fundraising and athletic efforts of its members.
Those of us listed below have committed to becoming Iron Phis. We have each selected an athletic endeavor that we'd like to accomplish, will be fundraising for The ALS Association and the Phi Delta Theta Foundation during our training, and look forward to completing the athletic events that we have chosen. It won't be easy, but we know the experience will last a lifetime.
We would encourage you to do one of two things on this page: 1) Help members of our team reach the $1,000 fundraising level by making a donation on their individual page, or 2) Join us in our journey to become Iron Phis.
In addition to our individual goals, we are in a month long competition with nine other Phi Delt chapters in Canada and the US. During the month of April, we are tasked with raising more money than these other nine chapters. The chapter that raises the most money in April will be awarded a trophy, bragging rights, and be known as the chapter that raised the most money for ALS in a one month period. We are all striving to make a positive impact in the ALS community, and what better way to do so than a friendly competition. We need your help; help this young chapter win this competition!
Our chapter will be competing against Phis from more than 225 campuses where Phi Delta Theta Fraternity has had chapters since 1848. You can track our progress by revisiting this page or frequenting the Iron Phi homepage for an up-to-date look at where we stand in comparison to everyone else.
We thank you for your support, and we appreciate your generosity in helping us achieve our goals.
How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
