Indiana Beta - Wabash College
Welcome to Indiana Beta's Iron Phi team page.
We Phi Delts have a special saying within our organization, "We enjoy life by the help and society of others." This is, in fact, is our open motto and explains our Chapter's desire to help others through the Iron Phi initiative.
The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and the impact it has on the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease through the fundraising and athletic efforts of its members.
Members of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity chapters at Wabash College and DePauw University will be running the ceremonial game football for the 120th Monon Bell Classic from Crawfordsville, Ind. to Greencastle, Ind on Friday, November 15, 2013. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for the international fraternity’s charity, the ALS Association.
The Wabash Phi Delts will begin the relay at 10 a.m. (EST) on the steps of the Pioneer Chapel in the heart of the Wabash College campus. They’ll run past their chapter, Indiana Beta, and follow the route of the old Monon Railroad both for symbolic and safety purposes. The route will run south and east from Crawfordsville, through the towns of Lodoga, Roachdale and Bainbridge, to Greencastle: all former stops on the Monon Railroad. This 37-mile route will keep those relaying the ball on secondary state and county roads and away from busy highways.
At about noon, the Wabash Phi Delts will arrive in Roachdale. At the northeast corner of the intersection of Indiana St. and Highway 236, Wabash chapter president, senior Drew Songer, will formally present the game ball to DePauw chapter president, junior Jake Rust.
From there, the DePauw Phi Delts will relay the ball all the way to Greencastle.
Prior to the 120th Monon Bell Classic football game on Saturday, November 16, 2014, representatives from both chapters will present the commemorative game ball onto the field.

Both Phi Delts chapters hope to raise upward of $5,000. Thanks to the generosity of two alumni donors (one each from Wabash and DePauw), $2,000 has been donated toward this effort.
You can contribute online to the fight against ALS at either the Wabash Iron Phi or DePauw Iron Phi websites. Iron Phi is the official fundraising program for Phi Delta Theta with 100% of the proceeds donated to the ALS Association.
To raise additional funds, the commemorative game ball will be raffled off at the annual Monon Bell Stag on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. The winner of the raffle will be given the ball after the Monon Bell game.

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
