Our Iron Phi Story

Iron Phi

New York Epsilon - Syracuse University

Welcome to New York Epsilon's Iron Phi page!

The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and the impact it has on the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease through the fundraising and athletic efforts of its members.

Next month is ALS Awareness Month, but our fraternity's chapter is currently participating in a nation-wide challenge to raise funds for the ALS Association. This Friday, April 22nd, we will be hosting the first ever Iron Phiday (funny we know) where all brothers will execute a challenging athletic task of their choice. Together, the brothers of New York Epsilon are working towards the goal of raising $10,000 for the ALS Association, which promotes research for what is currently an incurable illness.

We would encourage you to do one of two things on this page: 1) Help members of our team reach the $1,000 fundraising level by making a donation on their individual page, or 2) Join us in our journey to become Iron Phis.

Our Chapter will be competing against Phis from more than 225 campuses where Phi Delta Theta Fraternity has had chapters since 1848.  You can track our progress by revisiting this page or frequenting the Iron Phi homepage for an up-to-date look at where we stand in comparison to everyone else.

We thank you for your support, and we appreciate your generosity in helping us achieve our goals.

Sincerely,

The Brothers of New York Epsilon

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?

Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.

Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
