My Iron Phi Story
Welcome to My Personal Iron Phi Page
This Fall, I'll be attempting to become an Iron Phi - a distinction given to a small percentage of members within my Fraternity. The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and the impact we have on the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease through the fundraising and athletic efforts of its members. Lou Gehrig was a member of Phi Delta Theta, and our organization has taken an extremely active role in finding a cure for this tragic illness.
The net proceeds will support ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) research, education, screening, and treatment. It will also help strengthen an organization (Phi Delta Theta) that has had a lasting impact on my life.
I never thought I would even consider becoming an Iron Phi, but as many of my fellow brothers became Iron Phi's, I began to consider it. As a Huge New York Yankee fan, where Lou Gehrig spent all his amazing baseball career, I decided to pursue the Iron Phi distinction and join the elite grip of Phi's. In honor of the great Lou Gehrig, I will be taking to the Bowling Alley which is the sport I have dedicated a lot of time in my life to playing. I will be taking my great love for the game of bowling and bowling for 7 consecutive hours! My goal is to complete 34 games, 340 Frames equivalent to Lou Gherigs Batting Average as a New York Yankee!
I've set my personal goal at $1,340, So I am requesting your help. Would you please consider making a donation of any amount, any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated. You can donate on this page by clicking on the "Make a Gift" link below the thermometer.
As the state of the World improves and we can start gathering again I would like to make this a social gathering as well! If you are local, please come a join me for this on October 19th at the Crofton Bowling Alley(2115 Priest Bridge Dr, Crofton, MD 21114). I will start at 3:30pm and bowl until around 10:30pm. You can bowl along side of me for $30 for up to 2 hours as a donation to the Cause!
I am also accepting donations in the form of pledging per Pin, Strike or Spare bowled over the 7 hours! Any per Strike/Spare/Pin pledges, please let me know via email at Jason.schwemer@livech.com so I can recognize you for the donation.

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
