My Iron Phi Story
Trever S. Anderson: We Will Never Forget You.
Upon embarking on the journey to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, I felt as though something was missing. Something did not feel right. That something was my brother, Trever Anderson. From the moment he was bid, he lived and breathed Phi Delta Theta. He lived the life of a Phi before he was even a Phikeia, and continued to brighten the life of everyone who got the opportunity to meet him. Trever had a "Let's do this" attitude towards anything and was damn proud to become a member of the best organization a college man can become a part of. He would have been on this very trip to experience Kleberg and become a great leader within our organization. This future was sadly cut short when Trever decided to take his own life on May 16th, 2011. A member for only three weeks, he changed what it meant to be Damn Proud to be a Phi at the Montana Alpha Chapter at The University of Montana.
I had a thought. What if he would have been in attendance to this great convention? He would have no doubt in my mind took on the challenge to raise $1,000 to donate to the ALS Foundation. He would have ran the 5K, and there is no doubt in my mind that he would have become an Iron Phi. That would have marked the first from our chapter. This is the type of person he was. He inspired everyone around him to do great things, not by words, but by actions and keeping a fun loving attitude no matter what was going on.
To honor my brother, who still lives in every member of Montana Alpha, I want to do what he would have done. I want his legacy to live on, and that is why I am going to do what Trever S. Anderson would have done when he was here at Kleberg 2012. I am going to raise the $1,000 and run the 5K to place his name on the short list on Iron Phi's. I will be wearing the shoes that were made in his honor, after which I will be retiring them to our chapter. Trever would have done the same for a fallen Phi, as a member of the ROTC he would never leave a brother behind. I too cannot allow Trever to be forgotten.
This is where I need your help. I need to raise the funds before the event, which is rapidly approaching on 8/6/2012 at 7:30 AM to ensure that Trever will be added to the list of Iron Phi's. A donation of any size helps enable a dream of a brother who I no longer have the ability to see, but who is with me every single day. I need to do this for him, his father and his family along with our chapter here at The University of Montana.
Trever, this is for you bud! I never live a day I do not feel your guidance and your strive to achieve anything. Impossible was not in your vocabulary and you have enabled me to attempt to remove it from mine. I love you brother, you will never be forgotten!
In honor of Trever, we had the ability of initiating his father, Kyle Anderson as a full member of this brotherhood. He now sits on our Chapter Advisor Board and he is an inspiration to us all. This is for you, Dad!

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
