My Iron Phi Story
Welcome to My Personal Iron Phi Page
Approximately 5,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. ALS is completely fatal and there is currently no cure or way to prevent it. ALS could happen to anyone – and the causes are largely unknown. I want to do my part to end this horrific disease, and I need your help.
Proceeds from the Iron Phi program support the LiveLikeLou foundation, which supports ALS research, education, screening, and treatment. They also support the children of families affected by ALS. Proceeds will also help strengthen the Phi Delta Theta Foundation, which will help give scholarships to other members across the country and hopefully lead to more men attempting to become Iron Phis.
For my Iron Phi event, I am going to run up 238 stories, which is 5,000 stairs – one for every American diagnosed with ALS each year. This height is well over two empire state buildings. Additionally, if I hit my goal of raising $1000 for the Iron Phi program, I will do it with a 20lb weighted vest. As a Texas A&M Aggie, I hope to be able to do this in Kyle Field.
I am very grateful to Phi Delta Theta for not only the impact it has had on me personally, but also for giving me this chance to make a difference in the fight against ALS.

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
