Our Iron Phi Story

Iron Phi

Missouri Beta - Westminster College

Welcome to Missouri Beta's Chapter Page!

At Missouri Beta we are all about becoming the greatest version of ourselves. One way we can do this is by giving back to our community. One way Missouri Beta hopes to give back to the community is by participating in Phi Delta Theta's philanthropic arm of the fraternity--Iron Phi

The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and the impact it has on the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease through the fundraising and athletic efforts of its members.

Those of us listed below have committed to becoming Iron Phis.  We have selected an athletic endeavor that we'd like to accomplish, will be fundraising for The ALS Association and the Phi Delta Theta Foundation during our training, and look forward to completing the athletic events that we have chosen. It won't be easy, but we know the experience will last a lifetime.

Specifically our chapter will be hosting an Iron Phi event on April 21 at Westminster College in Fulton, MO. We will have several undergraduate runners participating in this event and as a chapter we hope to raise $10,000.

We would encourage you to do one of two things on this page:

1) Help members of our team reach the $1,000 fundraising level by making a donation on their individual page. OR,

2) Join us in our journey to become Iron Phis.

Our Chapter will be competing against Phis from more than 225 campuses where Phi Delta Theta Fraternity has had chapters since 1848.  You can track our progress by revisiting this page or frequenting the Iron Phi homepage for an up-to-date look at where we stand in comparison to everyone else. If our chapter is able to raise $10,000 we will be one of the only chapters in the whole nation who will be able to call itself an Iron Phi Chapter. Please help us reach this goal.

We thank you in advance for your support, and we appreciate your generosity in helping us achieve our goals.

Sincerely,

The Brothers of the Missouri Beta Chapter

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?

Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.

Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
