Welcome to PA Delta's Iron Phi Page,
The goal of the Iron Phi Challenge is simple, inspire exemplary young men to do something extraordinary in the fight against ALS. We here at PA Delta believe strongly in our fraternity's open motto "We enjoy life by the help and society of others", but this means we too must contribute to helping society. To that end we've decided to help raise funds ot fight ALS, a terrible neurodegenerative disease that bears the more common moniker Lou Gehrig's disease. And its true we selected this philanthropic endeavour because Lou Gehrig, the Iron Horse himself, was a brother of Phi Delta Theta.
This year though we're trying to do something truly bold. Not only are many of our brothers attempting to reach individual Iron Phi status by raising $1,000, our chapter of 35 has set a group goal of $10,000. This group goal would make us one of only a handful of chapters in the entire country to make Iron Phi Chapter status a distinction we look forward to wearing with pride. To that end we're teaming up with all the other chapters in our province and the one to the south of us Upsilon North and Upsilon South bringing brothers togehter from all over WV and PA, even getting alumni involved to run a relay marathon in April. This event the "Iron Horse Relay" will break the Pittsburgh Marathon route into 5 segments each run by a brother on the day of the event, 4/14/2013.
Additionally because we want so badly to help fight ALS we'll also be hosting smaller local events for those who can attend, more info on those as we go forward (like us on FB to get all the details https://www.facebook.com/ACPhiDeltaTheta?fref=ts ). Again any help towards our goal is much appreciated, if you're merely cruising on through this page on your way to a specific brother please head on to their page to make sure the donation is counted towards their goal. If not and you want to help the entire chapter along by all means click the donate link to the right and go wild. And remember ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE, so feel free to be generous. The money would go to Uncle Sam anyways.

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
