Marathons For Miracles: 26 Miles for ALS
Dear Friends and Supporters,
This spring, I am embarking on a remarkable journey to become an Iron Phi, a prestigious distinction awarded to a select few members of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Our mission is to support the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) through dedicated fundraising and athletic endeavors.
Why This Cause Matters
Lou Gehrig, a member of Phi Delta Theta, is the namesake of ALS, a devastating neurodegenerative disease. Approximately 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year, leading to the progressive degeneration of motor neurons, which eventually results in paralysis and death. Our fraternity is committed to contributing to the search for a cure and supporting those affected by this illness.
Why This Matters to Me
Phi Delta Theta has become a significant part of my life, shaping me into the person I am today and who I will become. The values of brotherhood, philanthropy, and leadership that I've embraced through this fraternity inspire me to give back whenever I can. Becoming an Iron Phi is not just about earning a new title— it's about honoring the legacy of Lou Gehrig and taking one step closer to the fight against ALS.
My Event: LA Marathon 2026
To achieve my goal of becoming an Iron Phi, I will participate in a full 26.2 mile Marathon exploring Los Angeles, consiting steep terrain and various LA sights. This challenging feat will take place on March 8, 2026. We plan to have daily updates on all of our socials. The first Iron Phi events began with Marathons, and this event will connect to our past as a national chapter.

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
