Iron 9 - Create Your Starting Lineup and Compete

An Iron Phi Chapter Competition from October 1 – December 2, 2022

In baseball, the players who make up a team’s starting lineup are the manager’s best strategic approach to winning a game. The nine players inked to the lineup have diverse talents and abilities but complement each other in a way that can bring great cohesion and success.

Phi Delta Theta and the LiveLikeLou Foundation will host Iron 9, a chapter competition through the Iron Phi program over the course of nine weeks (October 1 – December 2). Each Phi Delt chapter can compile one or more teams of nine Iron Phi participants to compete against other teams while raising funds for a valuable cause.

Building Your Iron 9 Roster

Each Phi Delt chapter can create one or more teams of nine individuals for the competition, but there must be at least two non-Phi Delts on each team.

Who Can the Non-Phis Be?

  • Women

  • Parents

  • Siblings

  • Professors

  • Phi Delt Sweethearts

  • Campus Administrators

  • Other Greek members on campus

  • Non-Greek friends on campus

Why Are We Compiling Teams Like This?

During Lou’s Olympics this past spring, we were very inspired by the chapters who mobilized non-Phis to join their team and succeed. The Iron Phi program is open to all, and we hope this competition will encourage many new audiences to participate, become Iron Phis, and help us Leave ALS Better Than We Found It. We also plan to host Lou’s Olympics again in Spring 2023 that will allow all Phis from the chapter to participate.
