Our Iron Phi Story

Iron Phi

Kansas Delta - Wichita State University

At Phi Delta Theta, we live by the words “We enjoy life by the help and society of others.” This open motto captures the heart of why our chapter participates in the Iron Phi program — to challenge ourselves, give back, and make a lasting impact.

The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen Phi Delta Theta and its members while supporting the fight against Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) through athletic achievement and fundraising. All proceeds benefit the Live Like Lou Foundation and Phi Delta Theta, helping fund ALS research, care for ALS families, and create leadership and scholarship opportunities for Phis across North America.

Each of us listed below has committed to becoming an Iron Phi by completing a personal athletic challenge and raising at least $1,000 along the way. It’s not an easy journey — but it’s one that builds character, camaraderie, and lifelong pride.

We invite you to get involved in one of two ways:

  1. Support our effort by donating to a team member’s Iron Phi page, or

  2. Join us in becoming an Iron Phi yourself.

Thank you for your encouragement, your generosity, and your support in helping us Live Like Lou and strengthen the bond of Phi Delta Theta.

How Does My Donation Make a Difference?

Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.

Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
