Nebraska Alpha - University of Nebraska, Lincoln
Welcome to Nebraska Alpha's Iron Phi team page!
We Phi Delts have a special saying within our organization - "We enjoy life by the help and society of others." This is, in fact, is our open motto and explains our Chapter's desire to help others through the Iron Phi initiative.
The mission of Iron Phi is to strengthen the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity and the impact it has on the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease through the fundraising and athletic efforts of its members.
Those of us listed below have committed to becoming Iron Phis. We have selected an athletic endeavor that we'd like to accomplish, will be fundraising for The ALS Association and the Phi Delta Theta Foundation during our training, and look forward to completing the athletic events that we have chosen. It won't be easy, but we know the experience will last a lifetime.
We are excited to announce that have set out to make the biggest Iron Phi event ever! On October 4th, 2014, our chapter in collaboration with the Creighton Phi Delt chapter and University of Nebraska at Kearney will participate in roughly a 170 mile run starting at the Cabela's in Kearney to the Cabela's in Papillion. This is not only a race against each other, but also a race to find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease.
Our efforts to make this event the biggest fundraising event ever amongst any Phi Delta Theta chapter can only be possible with your help. We would encourage you to do one of two things on this page: 1) Help an individual member of our chapter reach the $1,000 fundraising level by making a donation on their individual page, or 2) Make a general donation to to the Nebraska Alpha Chapter page.
You can track our progress by revisiting this page or frequenting the Iron Phi homepage for an up-to-date look at where we stand in comparison to everyone else.
We thank you for your support, and we appreciate your generosity in helping us achieve our goals.
Sincerely,
The Brothers of the Nebraska Alpha Chapter
How Does My Donation Make a Difference?
Your donation towards an Iron Phi athlete equally supports two very important things: Supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) through research and support of ALS families and leadership development for undergraduate members of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
At the end of each year calendar year, the LiveLikeLou Foundation grants dollars raised through Iron Phi to fund its initiatives that support ALS research, scholarships to support the higher education goals of ALS dependents, and summer camp experiences for children who have a parent or grandparent with ALS.
Dollars used for undergraduate leadership development have and continue to help Phi Delta Theta educate more of its undergraduate members as they work to “Become the Greatest Version of Themselves.”
